The Kollel Campaign

As the number of avreichem in Beit Shemesh keeps on growing, there is an increasing demand for kollelim which meet the specific needs and learning levels of the variety of yungeleit.

The world famous Yeshivas Brisk in Yerushalayim, headed by Hagaon Harav Avraham Yehoshua Soleveichek shlit"a, has in its student body the top bochurim and yungeleit from the world over. Hundreds of talmudim from the USA, Canada and Europe come to learn and gain the unique method of learning handed down by the great rabbonim, of the Brisker dynasty.

About three years ago, Hagaon Harav Shlomo Perlstein, shlit"a, the Rav of Ramat Beit Shemesh, who himself is one of the finest products of the Brisker Yeshiva. Having learned for many years under the previous Rosh Yeshiva, Maran Hagaon Harav Yosef Dov Soloveichik, z"tl, took upon himself to fill this void and give these avreichem, a place to learn in their special way.

Also giving them an opportunity to learn and hear shiurim on subjects the Rav is a great expert in, such as Eruvin and Ribis, in the unique Brisker Derech which the Rov learned from the legendary R' Berel, zt"l. These subjects are not taught at the yeshiva which has a steady cycle of masechtos learned.

Currently, there is a select group of handpicked yungeleit learning in the kollel. Talmidei chachamim from different parts of the world united in the toil of Torah. Each one is a true metzuyan invited to join after careful consideration, in order to create a makom Torah fit to bring forth true gedolei Torah in the spirit of the gedolim of yesteryear.
